Pink and Blue for Two (PB42) is a unique and powerful cancer awareness campaign that links the strikingly similar statistics between breast and prostate cancers, while urging couples to remind one another to visit their doctors regularly for screenings. What makes our campaign so different to all others is multi-faceted. Firstly, we emphasize the importance of early detection of BOTH breast and prostate cancers equally. While it is fabulous that breast cancer awareness is at the forefront of people’s minds in recent years, prostate cancer awareness needs to be as well. Men are just as affected by the perils of prostate cancer, as woman are from breast cancer. Both should be equally addressed to the public.
The second unique aspect of PB42, is how it brings all walks of life together, in the fight against cancer. Male and female, all ethnicity, and anyone over the age of 25, can and should be involved with this campaign. Last but not least, is how PB42 urges couples to remind one another to visit their doctors regularly for screenings of both types of cancers. When a person has their significant other helping to remind them to have it done, it makes it the entire experience that much easier and more pleasant. Let’s face it, us men don’t have a desire to get a prostate exam performed, and we will most likely skip it if we can get away with it. But, if our wives and/or girlfriends are there to remind us to book the appointment (and to make us actually go!), chances are we will. Bottom line…Pink and Blue for Two unites people everywhere in the pursuit of global breast and prostate cancer awareness, and to spread the work together in the importance of early detection.
The Pink and Blue for Two charity is truly honored and privileged to have an amazing group of influential, passionate, and knowledgeable ambassadors supporting it.
Our most recognizable face has been with us from the very onset, and she also happens to be the aunt of our founder, Emerson Newton-John. Olivia Newton-John is one of the world’s leading cancer awareness activists, and she is also a breast cancer “thriver”! She just recently opened her own cancer and wellness center in Melbourne, Australia, called the “Olivia Newton-John Cancer and wellness Center”, where the hospital intends to not only treat cancer medicinally, but also through the healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
PB42 is also extremely grateful to have world-renowned breast cancer surgeon, Dr. Ernie Bodai, on our team. Dr. Bodai is not only a man who has saved the lives of hundreds of woman in the operating room, but he is also the founder of the “Breast Cancer Research Postage Stamp”, who’s sales has raised over 100 million dollars toward research to a cure.
By being actively involved with PB42 and taking charge of your health, you are not only helping to save your own life, but also the life of your significant other. And it doesn’t only have to stem solely as far as your boyfriend, girlfriend, wife or husband. You can help everyone whom you care about, to become more pro-active about their health, by reminding them to visit their Dr’s for a breast or prostate screening. Whether you help just one life or many, you have done your part to spread the word on early detection and the importance of regular screenings.
If you would like to get involved with PB42, it is so easy! It’s as simple as this…check when was the last time that you had an exam performed, and then calculate when you should have your next one, and book it! The next thing to do is to ask your significant other when their last exam was, and help them to schedule one too. You could very easily be saving a life.“Screen together. LIVE together!”
